Amazon Reportedly Working On a Home Robot

Remember all those futuristic cartoons in which robots follow people around and do all the work, it all is going to become reality very soon!

 

Robots have already taken over Amazon's warehouses

Yes, you've read it all right. Now since online Amazing shopping session, Amazon Kindle, and Amazon Echo weren't enough, the multi billion dollar e-commerce giant is working its best to take another giant leap by introducing home robots which are said to be made available by 2019. So if you have actually wanted a house robot that will follow you around like a pet of your own and also do your stuff, you will not have to wait for too long. You will soon be able to order a robot for yourself form the Amazon app while doing some casual Amazon online shopping.

Amazon's Top Secret Plan

Amazon's home robot project was codenamed "Vesta" which was initiated years ago, but form the past one year, Amazon has raked up the working and hiring on the project. The company is planning to test robots by placing them in homes of Amazon's employees by the end of the current year in order to introduce them to the general public by 2019. The Amazon Vesta project is being presided by Gregg Zehr who also happens to run Amazon's Lab126hich is known for developing Echo, Fire  TV boxes, Fire tablets, and the Fire phone.

Functionality

Although not much is known about the functionality of Amazon's household robot, but this home robot is said to be installed with cameras and sensors to allow the home robot to follow people around the home and navigate through the premises. It is said to perform tasks similar to Amazon's Alexa which talks to people as a virtual assistant where Amazon's Echo is not around. Which means that Amazon's house robot will be your virtual assistant where Alexa is not around, which works as a virtual assistant where Echo s not around. What?

What next?

 

Although we really like the idea of opening our amazon shopping app to find a virtual assistant home robot ad on the  main page of Amazon online shop, and we'll most probably buy one as well if it does the chores. We would also like you to warn in advance to not buy home robots from Ebay as they can literally send you anything in the package. Now  the Amazon has placed its bet on home robots,  we would like to see if it is going to become a success or just another robot that will bite the dust.
