Apple has issued a memo regarding leakage of information to its employees, which ironically also gets leaked

apple information memo leak

People in silicon valley are unaware of a word called "privacy"

In a bizarre ironic event. The memo that was issued by Apple to its employees regarding actions that will be taken in case of leakage of information, has also been leaked. In the memo, Apple has stated that its staff may lose their jobs over leaking of private data, rendering them as unemployed and going as far as putting them behind the bars. Earlier this year, a roadmap of iOS updates was leaked by an employee who was caught and fired from the company last month, showing American smartphone manufacturer's serious intention of maintaining confidentiality. The memo also stated the damages that can be caused to the company. Also that if media personnel reach them, they are getting played (you are Apple's b now).

“The employee who leaked the meeting to a reporter later told Apple investigators that he did it because he thought he wouldn’t be discovered. But people who leak – whether they’re Apple employees, contractors or suppliers – do get caught and they’re getting caught faster than ever.” - Stated in the Memo

The manufacturer of iPhones has been very concerned with the leaks as the specifications of devices, sometimes even images, get leaked way before the launch. As per the Cupertino company, it is harming the sales as people stop buying iPhones when they get to know that a new one is to be released in the coming few months. Leaks of iPhone 7 and Plus, iPhone 8 and Plus, iPhone X, and other Apple devices are clear cut examples of how almost accurate information is being leaked out which allows the competitors to get ahead of Apple (which would have happened anyway). Although majority of the updates on an iPhone are VERY predictable because of slowing innovation.

"This is not the first time Apple has explicitly or implicitly warned its employees to prevent leaking information. The US based iPhone making Silicon Valley Giant held a meeting last year regarding its plans to prevent information leaks. The meeting also was recorded and leaked to the press."

By the ending of the memo, Apple also stated that it caught 29 leakers, out of which, 12 were arrested.

“Leakers do not simply lose their jobs at Apple. In some cases, they face jail time and massive fines for network intrusion and theft of trade secrets both classified as federal crimes. These people not only lose their jobs, they can face extreme difficulty finding employment elsewhere.” - Content of Apple's memo

Looks like the troubles are not coming to an end for Silicon Valley Giants as not only Apple faces information leak issues, but there's also Youtube that was allegedly collecting data of kids under 13. Also, not to forget Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg who is under fire over data leak of 87 million people to Cambridge Analytica, and for various reasons such as ghost profiles of people who do not use Facebook

If you would like to read the full memo, you can find it here.
